"My philosophy is based on the proverb from Confucius that says “ We can learn new things from the past”. Strongly inspired by time-honoured textiles, I have developed unique palettes via my expertise in natural dyeing with a key focus on using natural, sustainable and ethical materials."
 
"My works are mostly influenced by events of my life and the people around me. Even that days can feel sometimes like that they are always the same, the sky often shows a different expression and palette, as the people within my life whom show a different spectrum of emotions and colours. How I am influenced by what surrounds me is projected within my work. I am very thankful everyday for the environment around me and for those close to me"

Natural dyes fade and lose their colours quicker when compared with synthetic dyes, and if there are any holes, Emi can amend them using weaving techniques, patchwork techniques and others.
